ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

COOL MIXED-USE SPACE – COMPRISING SOME OF THE CITY’S MOST POULAR BARS, RESTAURANTS, RETAIL AND HOME TO SOME OF THE LARGEST CORPORATIONS IN THE NORTHWEST.

LOCATION: MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE.

** MONDAY – FRIDAY DAY TIME ROLE **

Hesketh James is currently recruiting an Assistant General Manager for one of their high profile, iconic spaces in Manchester city centre.

The ideal candidate will be a customer facing manager, whilst having a good commercial understanding, strong organisational skills, and experience managing the health and safety aspects of a building / venue.

Being a people person is key for this role, as you will build and maintain strong relationships with commercial tenants and ensure the estate runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the face of the venue, offering exceptional customer service to commercial tenants and landlords, assisting with queries and helping solve any issues. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, suppliers, and customers. Collaborate with other departments and corporate teams to deliver a cohesive and integrated customer experience. Support the General Manager with all administration tasks to ensure the Estate runs smoothly for tenants. Support with the financial performance of the estate, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. Work in coordination with key departments to ensure the Health & Safety, cleaning and maintenance of the estate is to the correct standards Assist the GM in developing business strategies to drive footfall onto the estate and always improving the customer experience.

The ideal candidate:

Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager / Deputy or General Manager in a fast-paced retail portfolio or hospitality environment such as high-end hotel or restaurant Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. A good financial acumen with an understanding of budgets, forecasting, and cost management. A good commercial awareness. Experience within building / venue management, understanding health & safety and compliance. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal Strong problem-solving, organisational skills and decision-making abilities.
