** To be considered for this role, you must have strong fresh food knowledge and pizza experience. This role also offers scope to be creative adding specials to the menu. Due to public transport restrictions, you must be a driver and have your own vehicle for this role **

We are seeking a talented and experienced Junior Sous Chef to for a quirky fresh food restaurant and wine bar in the Settle area. If you have a proven track record of culinary excellence and a passion for fresh food - we want to hear from you!

From handcrafted pizzas and to delicious salads, we prioritise the use of premium, fresh ingredients to create an unforgettable dining experience. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of our operation, as we strive to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in the running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and high-quality food preparation.
  • Create and develop specials that showcase your creativity, incorporating fresh and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including but not limited to, pizzas and various dishes, garnishes, while maintaining consistency and adhering to our quality standards.
  • Manage inventory and control costs by minimising waste, ensuring proper storage and implementing efficient kitchen processes.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices, and implement them into our culinary offerings.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef/Sous Chef in a reputable fresh food restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and creativity in food preparation and presentation.
  • A solid understanding of kitchen management, including inventory control, cost management, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications are preferred.
